Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician

Telecare Corporation is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LVN/LPT) to join our team at Sage House, a licensed 16-bed mental health rehabilitation center serving San Mateo County residents.
Job Summary:The LVN/LPT will provide services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment, including medications, as prescribed by the physician. This role requires a strong understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, as well as knowledge of psychotropic medications and laws governing mental health services in California.
Responsibilities:- Provide safe and effective implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients.
- Attend and participate in community meetings and groups.
- Monitor the activities and documentation of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) on the assigned unit.
- Coordinate and participate in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Transcribe physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer medication and treatments to clients.
- Receive and present change of shift report.
- Monitor the monthly recap of physician orders, medication record, and treatment records.
- Review all medical and psychological reports and inform the physician and nursing administrator of any abnormalities found in the clients' condition or laboratory reports.
- One year of experience in psychiatric nursing in a skilled nursing facility or an acute hospital is preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, and current licensure by the State of California are also required.
- A valid CPR Certificate is also required.
