Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our meat department, you will assist the Meat Department Manager in all aspects of meat department operations, including preparing products for sale, controlling freshness, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Meat Department Manager in preparing products for sale, including coding, rotating, and culling all products
  • Control freshness by removing out-of-code merchandise
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Supervise and direct staff when in charge of the department, including directing workload, counseling, training, performance evaluations, and supervision
  • Manage inventory, shrink, and accurate record keeping
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a meat department or related field required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
