About the Role

Innova Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team on a full-time contract basis. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex electronic systems, including circuit card assemblies (CCAs) containing multiple FPGAs, processors, and high-speed interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of CCAs, including requirements generation, preliminary design, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test.
  • Perform complex integration and debug of CCAs, applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure high-quality and dependable products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, test engineering, reliability engineering, systems engineering, safety engineering, software engineering, and verification engineering.
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, performing complex research and development assignments.
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects, interacting with senior external personnel on significant technical matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 13 years of prior related electrical engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years' experience with circuit card design processes, including requirements generation, preliminary design, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test.
  • Experience operating electronics laboratory equipment, including digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and DC power supplies.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience leading teams to design and debug digital CCAs.
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis tools, including Hyperlynx.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite.
  • Experience with high-speed serial protocols, including 10/25 Gb Ethernet, PCI Express Gen 2/3, and Fibre Channel.
  • Experience with high-speed memory interfaces.
  • Ability to lead teams through conflict, clarify objectives, and develop consensus and buy-in.
