Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

Novel Engineering is seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative circuit designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in research, design, development, and integration testing of circuit designs. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze system requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Design and develop circuit designs, including schematic capture and lab circuit debug experience on mixed signal designs.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between mechanical and software and to validate operational performance requirements of the overall systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on design reviews, specifications, and estimates.
  • Create and update documentation for designs, BOM management, projects, testing, etc.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15+ years of design experience.
  • Design digital and analog circuits, including schematic capture.
  • Lab circuit debug experience on mixed signal designs.
  • Design reviews, specifications, and estimates.
  • Create and update documentation for designs, BOM management, projects, testing, etc.
  • Microprocessor and Signal Processing system design experience.
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth and WIFI.
  • Able to work in a small team environment and have good communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of FPGA design experience on Xilinx and Intel (Altera) Development Tools.
  • 5+ years of experience with Altium Design tools.
  • 10+ years of experience with PCB layout, high-speed signals, including analog, digital, and power.
  • RF design experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable integrating, testing, and debugging the hardware that you design in a lab environment.
  • Extensive experience with wired communication standards such as UART, I2C, SPI, USB, I2S, CAN etc.
  • Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing concepts and applications.
  • Proficient using issue task tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Proof of strong problem-solving capability and people skills, and the ability to conduct presentations for management, technical experts, and customers.
