Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider

InGenesis is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider. In this capacity, you will deliver healthcare services in accordance with a collaborative practice and prescriptive authority agreement established with a supervising physician.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with the Clinical Director (or designated representative), Psychiatrist, and other mental health professionals for the management of intricate psychiatric cases.
- Oversee mental health patient care, including off-site referrals and collaborative responsibilities through scheduled appointments, urgent care, or walk-ins.
- Assess and treat both acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
- Prescribe necessary medications.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations.
- Provide urgent or emergency mental health assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Deliver relevant health education to patients verbally and/or through informational materials.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care visits in the required health records.
Essential Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner: Must be a graduate from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHMP) or Physician Assistant program in the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. Must hold PMHNP national board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Physician Assistant: Must be a graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory, accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
- Possess a current, full, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
- Must maintain national certifications as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP) or Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
- At least one year of full-time equivalent experience in primary care as a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, with clinical experience current within the last five years.
- Experience in a detention, correctional, or residential healthcare environment is preferred.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Verbal proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal government security background check.
Physical Requirements:
- This role may require physical exertion, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, or jogging over uneven surfaces; frequent bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; and lifting moderately heavy patients or equipment.
- Specific physical characteristics and abilities, such as agility, dexterity, and visual and auditory capabilities, may be necessary.
- Must be capable of responding to medical emergencies within the facility within four minutes and perform CPR or emergency care as needed.
- Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or elderly patients or staff during emergencies.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
*Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
