Job Summary:
This is a supervisory position within the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, ICE Health Service Corps, Office of Deputy Assistant Director of Clinical Services.
The incumbent will report directly to the site Clinical Director and will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at IHSC sites.
The position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight to APPs at IHSC sites
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
- Collaborate with clinical directors and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality patient care
- Provide education and training to APPs on clinical topics and best practices
- Conduct peer reviews and provide feedback to APPs
- Participate in national APP training initiatives
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- National board certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (APRN)
- Graduate from a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or a Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- At least 6 years of full-time clinical experience as a PA or NP
- Team lead or supervisory experience of at least 2 years
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in IHSC health system
- Correctional Healthcare experience
- Certification as Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP)
- Knowledge and/or experience with IHSC policies, NCCHC and PBNDS requirements
Working Conditions:
This position requires occasional travel and may involve working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
The selected candidate will be required to serve an 18 to 24-month commitment to IHSC.
