Position: Cloud Security Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Job Type: Full-time with comprehensive benefits.
Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI with FS Polygraph.
Experience Requirements:
- 2 years with a PhD
- 4 years with a Master's degree
- 6 years with a Bachelor's degree
Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will collaborate with the program security team to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert guidance and execution in accordance with the Risk Management Framework to support NIST SP HHM systems through the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
- Developing detailed security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), to facilitate the Body of Evidence (BOE) for client approval.
- Identifying security controls and partnering with engineering and development teams to create effective test plans and procedures.
- Conducting security audit reviews to ensure audit records are collected and assessed.
- Coordinating security testing activities in collaboration with external assessment teams and technical personnel.
- Configuring and managing various AWS services to enhance the security posture of the system.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Required Experience: 8+ years in relevant roles.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong technical acumen and analytical skills, with experience in system security analysis and risk management.
- Proficiency in security practices within the Amazon Web Services environment.
- Ability to perform complex technical tasks independently.
- Experience in translating system and application knowledge into security test plans and executing hands-on security assessments.
- Familiarity with risk management methodologies.
- Capability to analyze test outcomes and recommend solutions for security vulnerabilities.
- Technical expertise in system configuration, development, and design, particularly in enterprise systems and hypervisors.
- Experience with Linux and virtual platforms.
- Established history of working with public and private information security organizations.
- Ability to communicate vulnerability findings and risk assessments to senior management.
The candidate should possess a broad understanding of Information Security policies and guidelines, along with the capability to assist in researching, evaluating, and formulating relevant security policies.
