Job Summary

The Front Line Supervisor (FLS) - Metals is a pivotal role at PBF Energy, responsible for leading and supervising the execution of Safe, Quality, and Efficient maintenance work in the Hard Trades/Metals Section. This position reports to the Routine Maintenance Superintendent and directly supervises Company craft, ensuring timely and efficient work practices, and optimizing cost savings and work efficiency within work plans and work processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct morning Safety meetings with Metals Personnel to emphasize the importance of maintaining safe work habits
  • Assign work tasks to Metals / Contractor personnel for daily execution of Mechanical repairs and Preventive maintenance
  • Follow up on progress of work execution to ensure timely completions of ongoing work, and work through any barriers
  • Ensure needed resources are available with Mechanical Planning, and assign work
  • Quality checks on completed work to ensure work was completed and left in an acceptable condition
  • Adhere to Established Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure work is executed in the safest manner possible
  • Provide daily updates on status of work in progress
  • Work with Refinery Unit Process Mechanical Coordinators to ensure equipment availability prior to directing resources to unavailable equipment
  • Ensure accurate time keeping and validation of hours worked for Metals personnel
  • Attend meetings for scheduling and other priorities as needed
  • Generate daily reports on status of work
Position Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a refinery/petrochemical industry
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge/skills in Heat exchangers, Fin Fan bundles, Isometric drawings, Pin id's, Piping fabrication, Valve maintenance, etc.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of Planning/Scheduling and Execution in Maintenance
  • Proficient understanding of refinery process, equipment, terminology, and work practices required
  • Basic computer skills, Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Ability to work extended hours during the work week and weekends when required
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/P&IDs required
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment
  • Demonstrated strength in communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work within a team environment
