Job Summary

As a Charge Registered Nurse with Mass General Brigham Healthcare at Home, you will provide clinical oversight of patients and clinicians, supervise routine operational activities, and oversee general office/administrative staff on assigned shift. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating patient admissions, assigning staff, and providing clinical support to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff assignments to match patient needs and staff skills, ensuring geographic efficiency and clinician productivity.
  • Provide ongoing clinical support and counsel to staff to effectively handle complex patient cases.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes, including facilitating new hire orientations, trainings, and in-services.
  • Communicate patient care needs to assigned clinicians, providing necessary information for patient care.
  • Evaluate clinical performance of direct care staff through field supervision and communicate results to the manager.
  • Review documentation for adherence to established guidelines and route accordingly.
  • Orient clinical staff to job expectations within established guidelines.
  • Conduct routine supervisory activities and communicate relevant information to the manager.
  • Evaluate patient admissions for acceptance, ensuring they meet admission criteria and staff availability.
  • Resolve customer issues related to multi-disciplinary team members.
Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Required: Current Massachusetts license as Registered Nurse

Knowledge of high-tech nursing skills preferred

Supervisory experience preferred

Computer literate with various software required

Ability to effectively triage telephone situations

Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with a varied population

Ability to see a situation, critically assess it, make a decision, and execute it

Work Environment

Primarily works in patients' homes, with potential exposure to blood, blood products, body fluids, and chemical hazards. May attend meetings in various external organizations, healthcare facilities, hotels, and other venues.
