Job Title: Charge Nurse

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to join our team in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing clinical oversight of patients and clinicians, supervising routine operational activities, and overseeing general office/administrative staff on assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff assignments to match patient needs and staff skills, ensuring geographic efficiency and clinician productivity.
  • Provide ongoing clinical support and counsel to staff to effectively handle complex patient cases.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes, including facilitating new hire orientations, trainings, and in-services.
  • Communicate patient care needs to assigned clinicians, providing necessary information for patient care.
  • Evaluate clinical performance of direct care staff on an ongoing basis, communicating results to the manager.
  • Review documentation for adherence to established guidelines, routing it appropriately and timely.
  • Orient clinical staff to job expectations within established guidelines, conducting routine supervisory activities and communicating relevant information to the manager.
  • Evaluate patient admissions, accepting those that meet admission criteria and staff availability, and established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and/or resolve customer issues related to multi-disciplinary team members.
Requirements

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Knowledge of high-tech nursing skills
  • Supervisory experience

Registration Required:

  • Current Massachusetts license as Registered Nurse

Computer literate with various software required. Ability to effectively triage telephone situations, strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a varied population.

Primarily works in patients' homes, with potential exposure to blood, blood products, body fluids, and chemical hazards. Attends meetings in various external organizations, healthcare facilities, hotels, and other venues.
