Job Overview

The Director of Programs and Events will lead the Programs team, focusing on project management and program development for all meetings and events. This role serves as the key external liaison to program planning committees and internal liaison to the Parenteral Drug Association. The Director will provide enthusiastic team direction for 2 team members, day-to-day support, and strategic vision regarding programming and overall support during meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute project management plans;
  • Develop, improve, and maintain department standards;
  • Develop and maintain annual program budgets;
  • Manage and coordinate pre- and post-conference correspondence with event stakeholders;
  • Oversee onsite program management, including speaker updates and vendor management;
  • Identify event topics and presenters using internal and external resources;
  • Develop and maintain promotional program-related event content in partnership with the Marketing Team;
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration with all departments and PDA volunteers;
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate revenue and execute successful events;
  • Direct and delegate program management plans and related elements for all events;
  • Manage 2 team members;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 8-10 years of equivalent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Ability to take direction, accomplish tasks efficiently, and work independently with minimal guidance;
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams;
  • Experience with Cadmium is highly desirable.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to independently ascend and descend stairs;
  • Ability to independently reach, twist, and bend;
  • Ability to independently remain stationary for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to independently lift up to 30 pounds when required by work assignment.
