Position Overview: The Laborer is responsible for performing essential daily tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our plants and crushing systems. This role involves regular inspections, monitoring, and maintenance of all operational components within the facilities, playing a crucial role in maximizing plant uptime and minimizing downtime through diligent and effective routine maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with all safety policies and procedures, utilizing the appropriate tools and equipment for each task.
  • Adhere to all company policies and MSHA regulations to ensure safe working practices.
  • Execute tasks as directed by the supervisor and meet expectations for each specific project.
  • Conduct repairs and perform daily maintenance on conveyors, crushers, and plants as required.
  • Manage grounds maintenance, including grass, weeds, fences, gate areas, and rails/rail ties.
  • Operate and maintain various vehicles, machinery, and equipment utilized at the site.
  • Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies as necessary.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of tools and the work area.
Required Skills:
  • Prior field experience in asphalt manufacturing, concrete production, or construction is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills to perform general repairs on plant equipment using standard industrial tools and a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Able to operate mobile equipment associated with plant operations, including skid steers, front-end loaders, dump trucks, and manlifts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions while working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Capacity to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to work on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable, responsible, and reliable.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this position, frequent requirements include kneeling, climbing, bending, stooping, and crawling.
  • Ability to push, carry, and lift 75 pounds or more.

Compensation:

  • $21.00 per hour
