**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Houghton-Portage Township Schools. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our school district facilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and school grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and school district policies.
  • Operate heavy equipment and perform maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Director to prioritize tasks and allocate resources.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal facility performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them promptly.

**Requirements:**

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent driving record and ability to pass a physical, including a drug test.
  • Able to obtain a Certified Pool Operator certificate (CPO).
  • Heavy equipment maintenance and repair knowledge preferred.
  • Able to handle physical demands of the job.
  • Self-motivated with good work ethic and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must complete and pass a criminal history background check according to applicable laws and school board policies.
