Georgia Regional Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests
  • Develop comprehensive plans of care
  • Examine clients to obtain information about their physical condition
  • Instruct and counsel clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal
  • Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients
  • Obtain, compile, and record client medical data, including health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, and infection management
  • Presume therapy or medication with physician approval
  • Visit and observe clients on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician
  • May supervise support and/or lower-level employees

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of assessment tools, interviewing, and physical examination techniques
  • Ability to formulate diagnosis based on examination and test results; able to interpret test results, identify deviations from norms, and intervene or make appropriate referrals
  • Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills; knows procedures
  • Ability to prescribe certain medications as part of a treatment plan gaining physician approval when needed
  • Ability to document problems and/or needs identified from the treatment plan; competent in completing treatment plans

Requirements:

A Master's degree in nursing area of assignment from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in a related area AND a current license to practice as APRN in Georgia in the specialty area. Psychiatric specialty area requires a minimum of Two years mental health experience. Medical specialty area requires a minimum of Four years mental health experience OR Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited college or university AND Four years of general medicine experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND completion of a physician assistant training program of at least 24 months certified by the Accreditation Review Commission of PA, ARC-PA AND certification to practice as a Physician Assistant by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners (or eligibility to obtain within One year) AND Two years of experience in a related area.
