Job Summary

Thompson Hospitality is seeking a skilled Utility Worker to join our team at Virginia Union University. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and welcoming ambiance of our front-of-house area.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all dining and kitchen areas to meet high standards.
  • Operate dishwashers efficiently and maintain them to ensure optimal performance.
  • Handle waste disposal and support recycling efforts to minimize our environmental footprint.
  • Restock dining supplies to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support our culinary team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines to protect our guests and team members.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a food service environment.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well within a team to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to adjust to varying tasks and schedules to meet the needs of our guests and team.
