About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Residential Driver to join our team at Waste Connections. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe collection of solid waste in our service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely Operate a Garbage Truck: You will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Read Route Sheets and Service Customers: You will read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher, ensuring that all customers receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Perform Routine Vehicle Inspections: You will perform routine post and pre-route inspections on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires, to ensure that all vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Engage with Customers: You will engage in professional and courteous interactions with customers when needed, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Perform Other Job-Related Duties: You will perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management, including participating in training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B CDL: You must possess a valid Class A or B CDL and a clean driving record.
  • Local Route Driving Experience: You must have at least 1 year of local route driving experience, with a proven track record of safe and efficient driving.
