Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Market Lead to join our team at H-E-B in College Station. As a Market Lead, you will be responsible for leading a well-stocked and well-maintained department, providing superior customer service, and maintaining department safety and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Partners to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
  • Train and develop Partners to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Order and receive product, ensuring quality control and proper storage
  • Operate power meat prep and processing equipment, cutting, trimming, and preparing meat for service
  • Ensure proper product rotation and storage, maintaining coolers and freezers
  • Provide coaching on superior customer service and answer customer questions regarding products
  • Follow merchandising and selling campaigns related to cutting, trimming, and merchandising meat
  • Clean and sanitize sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment
  • Comply with department SOPs, Store operating procedures, and federal/state fresh meat regulations
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 6+ months of related experience and/or training, or a combination of equivalent education/training
  • Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training
  • Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, setup, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment
  • Knowledge of the culinary and nutritional aspects of product
  • Meatcutting skills (saw, grinder)
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Computer skills (Telxon, IMS, Exporter, CIS, MS Office)
Working Conditions
  • Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks
  • Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs
  • Lift and carry moderately heavy loads (up to 50 lbs)
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, pivot, push/pull with arms, grasp
  • Frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and high-tech chemicals
  • Occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
