SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility is in excellent condition. Duties include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, window washing, restroom cleaning and restocking, as well as floor finishing and buffing. The role may also involve transporting Corps vehicles to collect donated items as necessary.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Function:

To uphold the cleanliness and overall condition of the Corps building, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Executing all tasks as outlined in the Custodial Duty Schedule.
  • Reporting cleaning supply needs to the Corps Officer at a one-week inventory level.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the facilities, including vacuuming, restroom sanitation, trash disposal, window washing, storage area organization, dusting, floor cleaning, carpet care, and furniture cleaning as required.

Additional tasks include cleaning Social Services Shower facilities throughout the day, collecting food donations from local businesses, and logging appropriate counts for reporting purposes.

Minor maintenance tasks may also be required, along with setting up and dismantling for rental groups as directed.


OTHER DUTIES:
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Corps Officer. It is essential to maintain OSHA-required Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records. A valid Montana Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must be able to understand written and verbal instructions, lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly, read and follow safety procedures, handle cleaning supplies appropriately, and operate cleaning equipment safely. Candidates must also pass The Salvation Army Safe From Harm screening and the Annual Driving Examination. Qualified individuals must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
