Specialization: FS - Medical Specialty Step Down
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Work Schedule: 3x12 Hour Day Shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 Guaranteed
Required Experience: Experience in Step Down Units is essential; 3/12 shifts during daytime
Licensure: Valid RN License is mandatory
Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred)
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care within a hospital environment for patients facing a variety of health challenges, ranging from straightforward to intricate.
- Take accountability for a designated group of patients.
- Record patient reactions to nursing actions and prescribed medical treatments; document any alterations in physician orders for the assigned patients.
- Assist medical professionals during patient examinations and treatments.
- Gather and track physiological data of patients, monitor physiological signs, and take action when necessary.
- Administer medications as directed.
- Initiate, manage, and observe intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Provide proficient patient care.
- Engage with patients and their families to discuss care plans during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Educate patients and their families regarding hospital protocols.
- Refer patient care requirements to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Delegate responsibilities to support staff.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned.
