Job Title: Banquet Captain

Location: Charlottesville Hotel

The Omni Charlottesville Hotel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our Food and Beverage team. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of all banquet functions, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the Banquet staff during all food and beverage service.
  • Assist the Banquet Manager in the complete operation of the Banquet Department.
  • Responsible for adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for adhering to all liquor liability laws.
  • Must assist/conduct all designated staff/pre-function meetings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must follow all details as described on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Must be able to set tables to specifications, carry trays, and have excellent customer service experience.
  • Complete banquet consumption sheets as designated by the Director of Banquets.
  • Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
Qualifications:
  • Previous banquet leadership experience required, 3-4 years of experience in a four-star/four-diamond hotel or resort is strongly preferred.
  • Must have the ability to be alcohol TIPS certified and ServSafe food handler training certification.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and portray a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must consistently demonstrate a teamwork-oriented and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand and walk for long periods of time, including the duration of a full shift.
  • Must be able to walk, push, pull, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate weight.
