About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our team at YouTube. As a Software Engineer, you will work on developing and maintaining our machine learning algorithms and tools, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining and/or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), or artificial intelligence.
  • Programming experience in Python.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $161,000-$239,000, bonus, equity, and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
