Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Maine Medical Center - Portland. This is a full-time position working in a Level 1 Trauma Center with a high-volume operating room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring proper sterilization and handling.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless execution of procedures, adhering to hospital policies and protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a Level 1 Trauma Center or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, with the ability to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with neurosurgery, robotics, and other specialized surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of Epic EMR system and other hospital software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
