Position Overview


Effectively oversee and direct daily operations and output in accordance with the project schedule, plans, specifications, regulations, and industry standards while providing essential training on appropriate safety and operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Superintendent and Project Management to arrange crew, materials, and equipment to achieve optimal productivity and quality while minimizing costs in alignment with the budget.
  • Inspect and assess work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain precise reporting records, including job quantities, productivity metrics, time sheets, and daily management reports.
  • Assist in formulating a weekly schedule and executing the sequence of activities for the assigned crew.
  • Ensure timely completion of work assignments within estimated costs while upholding the company's reputation for quality craftsmanship.
  • Accountable for the safety of crew members, conducting all operations in accordance with applicable company and governmental safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive crew environment by conducting toolbox meetings and communicating safety issues, work scope, plans, and schedules to leadmen and crews.
  • Monitor adherence by all employees under supervision to all company policies.
  • Continuously evaluate crew performance and adjust work plans and schedules as necessary.
  • Prioritize tasks and operate within a defined budget.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent may be required, along with several years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and skills to perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
  • Ability to plan tasks to safely and efficiently execute all aspects of assigned work, including training on safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, material control, unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals, and job cost management systems.
  • Ability to comprehend, follow, and convey written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with craft workers and management.
  • Must possess strong communication, motivational, and teamwork skills.

Requirements

  • The individual in this role must be able to navigate a construction or industrial site,
which includes standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.

  • Regularly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to varying outdoor
weather conditions.

  • Availability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
  • May need to utilize ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolding to access required equipment or work areas (potentially exceeding 200 feet), necessitating the ability to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

    • Ability to move and work in confined and cluttered spaces, as well as on uneven surfaces.
    • Must be capable of completing tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
    • May be required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction or industrial site.

      • Must possess necessary tools.
      • Adhere to all safety and project regulations, performing additional duties as required.
      • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, physical examinations, and background checks.
