Job Summary

Erie Neighborhood House is seeking a dedicated Career Pathway Instructor to join our Workforce Development team. As a key member of our team, you will provide contextualized classroom instruction to adult learners, focusing on Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Supply Chain Management Training. Your expertise will help students prepare for entry into the vocational program, community college, or career track in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that integrate reading, math, and medical training to meet the learning needs of adult learners.
  • Administer and score TABE tests or CASAS GOALS to track student progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Development Program Manager to develop and implement curriculum that reflects ABE/ASE content standards.
  • Provide individualized support to students, creating a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
  • Document student attendance and report inconsistencies to the Program Manager, conducting follow-ups to drive retention and engagement.
  • Participate in regular department meetings, task forces, and committees to ensure alignment with Erie Neighborhood House's mission and goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Care, or related field, with a minimum of two years' experience in adult education (ABE or ESL).
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of adult learners, with a commitment to social justice and sensitivity to the assets and challenges of this population.
  • Bilingual – Spanish and English required.
  • Flexible schedule to work between the West Town site and Little Village locations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, online systems, and other software.
  • Strong leadership skills that promote innovation, growth, and retention.
  • Ability to develop rapport with individuals across multicultural backgrounds and with faculty, staff, and members of the community.
