Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team at New Story School in Lancaster, OH. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy services to our students under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized IEP goals and objectives to promote fine motor, perceptual motor, self-care, sensory integrative skills, and play activities, as well as neuromuscular function.
  • Implement occupational therapy activities to meet student needs and encourage progress.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, other related service professionals, school district personnel, outside service providers, and student families to design and implement appropriate services.
  • Demonstrate effective behavior management strategies and techniques, including knowledge of student privileges and responsibilities.
  • Complete quarterly progress reports and provide information to parents/guardians and school districts.
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
