Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

At Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Frisco, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing superior quality laboratory testing support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and reliable laboratory testing results under the general direction of the Laboratory Director.
  • Comply with department policies, processes, and procedures to ensure quality products and services.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques and principles, and properly operate instruments in assigned areas.
  • Understand the inter-relationships of laboratory procedures and physiological conditions affecting test results.
  • Correlate data from quality control information to working situations on a daily basis.
  • Identify and assume ownership of opportunities for improvement, and use knowledge of instrumentation and procedures to assist others in troubleshooting and training.
  • Manage daily workload in a productive manner, and ensure that laboratory equipment and instruments are clean, functional, and calibrated.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory/medical technology science, or Associate's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology program.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital laboratory, or two years of experience in an accredited laboratory.
  • Certification by one of the following accrediting agencies: MT/MLS (ASCP) or categorical, MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP).
  • CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies/standards.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to detect color and color changes.
