Pacific Rail Services is on the lookout for a Chassis Maintenance Technician to become part of our dedicated team. We seek individuals with mechanical skills, those who excel in hands-on tasks, and who are comfortable working outdoors while being active throughout the day. Ideal candidates will possess basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to contribute meaningfully to the maintenance of trailers, containers, and chassis. Your primary duties will involve chassis upkeep and repairs.
Job Overview:
  • The Chassis Maintenance Technician is tasked with inspecting, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the effective maintenance of chassis and trailers.

Compensation: $20-22/hour (based on experience)

Requirements:
  • Strong work ethic.
  • (Preferred but not mandatory) At least 1 year of mechanical experience to qualify for FMCSA inspections.
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Welding experience is advantageous.
  • Experience as a yard jockey is a plus.
  • Familiarity with shop tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections.
  • Replace suspension components and landing gear.
  • Document all repairs made.
  • Patch and weld containers as needed.
  • Change tires.
  • Perform inspections and repairs on air brake systems.
  • Provide your own basic tools.

Employment Conditions:
  • Successful candidates must pass a Physical Capabilities Test and a drug screening.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
