Join the City of Greenville, NC team as a Crime Analyst II and contribute to the development of effective crime prevention strategies. As a key member of the Police Department, you will analyze complex data to identify crime patterns and trends, and provide actionable insights to inform policing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze crime data to identify patterns and trends, and develop strategic action plans to prevent and suppress criminal activity.
- Conduct research and statistical analysis to inform crime prevention strategies, and develop victim and suspect profiles.
- Prepare written and oral presentations to inform police officers, detectives, and commanders of emerging or existing crime series, patterns, and trends.
- Collect and organize criminal information from various sources, including the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) system, field interviews, and intelligence information.
- Attend regional meetings of crime analysis professionals to share information on crime patterns, new methodologies, and developing tools.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, mathematics, or criminal justice.
- At least two years of experience in crime analysis, GIS systems analysis, or general data analysis.
- Knowledge of GIS applications, SQL databases, and statistical analysis techniques.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to stakeholders.
