Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Albany Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an inpatient acute pain service at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inpatient consultations and coordinate between interdisciplinary services and providers.
  • Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities.
  • Utilize multimodal analgesics, regional anesthesia, Ketamine and Lidocaine infusions, and implantable pain control devices.
  • Conduct patient assessments and complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
  • Administer medications or treatments and perform minor surgery as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
