Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Nurse Coordinator Lead to join our team at West Suburban Medical Center. As a key member of our Weiss Infusion Center, you will play a vital role in the development and organization of our infusion program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Weiss Infusion Center and supervise the development of the infusion program.
  • Coordinate efforts between Lakefront Hematology/Oncology, Cancer Registry, Research, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Oversee and monitor clinical operations and personnel, assisting the Manager in establishing long and short-term goals.
  • Contribute to the education and development of nursing and allied health professionals, ensuring clinical knowledge base of staff.
  • Collect, evaluate, and act upon Quality Assessment data, participating in hospital/departmental committees as needed.
  • Assist Manager with probationary and annual performance appraisals of Center personnel, coordinating scheduling to ensure staff coverage.
  • Participate as a resource to inpatient care areas in the management and nursing care of Center patients, assessing collected data and developing a nursing plan of care.
  • Maintain own competency and continuing education in the area of specialization and in professional practice.
Requirements
  • B.S.N. degree preferred with oncology background in clinical setting.
  • 1 to 3 years experience as a Resource Person, Charge Nurse or nurse administrator.
  • Registered Nurse with current Illinois license.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience, proficient computer skills, and OCN certification.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, ability to communicate with patients, family, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Experience with patient/staff education, strong detail-orientation, and follow-up capacity.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and adherence to WMH VALUES.
