About the Role:

Pinnacle Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team. As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement databases to meet business requirements, ensuring data storage needs and user access are met.
  • Database Administration: Administer and maintain databases, ensuring high functionality and performance.
  • Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain database programs, scripts, and automation tools to deploy, operate, and increase data storage capacity.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Troubleshoot platform-specific performance issues, debug existing database scripts and programs, and review database reports to spot problems.
  • Database Security and Compliance: Ensure production uptime service levels are maintained, provide data cleansing services, verify data integrity, and implement access controls.
  • Database Performance and Tuning: Monitor and analyze SQL queries, and perform platform-specific tuning to ensure optimal database performance.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Database Administration: Experience with installation, upgrade, and patching of different components in Sybase, MS SQL Server, Postgres, and other platforms.
  • Replication and Failover: Experience with replication setup, troubleshooting, and failover.
  • Database Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor all systems, ensure production uptime service levels are maintained, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Automation and Scripting: Experience with automation using shell scripts, Python, Ansible, and other tools.
  • Performance and Tuning: Experience with performance analysis, monitoring of SQL queries, and platform-specific tuning.
