Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Security Engineer at ButterflyMX, you will play a pivotal role in delivering substantial value to our organization by prioritizing the protection of our clients', tenants', and employees' information assets.

You will be responsible for maturing, building, scaling, and operationalizing our information security program. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding our innovative solutions and protecting our valuable assets and customers.

This role will report directly into our VP of Information Security and Privacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, mature, and maintain robust security controls and processes across our technology stack to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Lead vulnerability management and remediation efforts to improve the security posture and resiliency of ButterflyMX.
  • Extend our detection and response capabilities by building scalable solutions to identify malicious activity, triage alerts, and investigate and remediate incidents.
  • Drive security incident response efforts, including containment, investigation, recovery, post-incident analysis, lessons learned, and ensuring remediation.
  • Ensure security controls are implemented to enable compliance with industry standards, regulations, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and implement new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security seamlessly into our product development lifecycle.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, technologies, and trends to proactively protect our systems.
  • Develop and conduct regular security awareness training and security education programs for employees.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers and partners regarding security-related inquiries.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of security engineering experience building, managing, and scaling security operations at a fast-paced, agile/dynamic, cloud-native, technology-driven startup.
  • Experience securing a tech stack/solution that includes SaaS, Mobile, and IoT.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security, compliance, and data privacy risks.
  • Proficiency with deploying, operationalizing, and managing security solutions in a remote-first organization with a cloud tech stack built for providing SaaS.
  • AWS Security SME - experiential knowledge of securing EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS.
  • AWS Security Stack Experience - WAF, Inspector, Security Hub, GuardDuty, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with implementing Security and Privacy by Design principles into a development lifecycle involving incorporating threat modeling to identify potential risks and ultimately design appropriate security controls.
  • Customer-focused and solution-oriented, enthusiastic, empathetic, adaptable, bias for action, forward-thinking, optimistic, trusted advisor.
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Security Certified, CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, GXPEN, OSCP, SANS Certifications, Burp Suite Certified, Security+, CEH, CIPP, CIPT.
