POSITION SUMMARY:
The Equipment Maintenance Specialist at Rose Acre Farms is responsible for ensuring optimal performance of machinery through routine preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. This role is crucial in maintaining the operational efficiency of our processing equipment.
The Maintenance Specialist will also oversee inventory management for parts and supplies. This individual will assist machine operators in adhering to both governmental and corporate sanitation standards. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the performance and work habits of production staff to ensure compliance with operational protocols. All responsibilities must be executed with professionalism and a commitment to excellence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute the preventive maintenance schedule and daily operational checks for machinery (this list is not exhaustive):
- Regularly lubricate essential machine components.
- Support the cleaning and sanitation of machinery and workspaces daily.
- Conduct inspections of machinery and associated equipment at scheduled intervals.
- Repair or replace defective parts promptly to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and adjust machine components and systems related to production.
- Communicate effectively with machine operators and assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with Quality Control Inspectors to ensure that the final products meet established standards.
- Help maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Operate machinery as needed.
- Assist in monitoring packaging processes to ensure accurate labeling.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in the production area during operations.
- Aid in the installation of new equipment.
- Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Complete and submit all necessary documentation related to operations.
- Notify management of any urgent situations requiring immediate attention.
- Maintain a sufficient inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
- Familiarize with and comply with Bio-security Program Policies.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) when applicable.
- Comply with the Company Safety Program.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in elevated areas.
- Must be prepared to spend extended periods walking or standing on concrete surfaces.
- Bring all necessary tools to perform job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary mechanical or technical training preferred.
- Proficient in basic math skills, including calculations involving percentages and fractions.
- Experience in mechanical functions such as troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair is essential.
- Computer literacy is required, with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; familiarity with Oracle is advantageous.
- Dependability and flexibility in work hours, including availability for emergency calls, are necessary.
- Ability to respond effectively to urgent situations.
- Strong decision-making and organizational skills are essential.
- Must adhere to OSHA and company safety standards while performing job duties.
- Ability to collaborate professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work in various environments, including agricultural settings, processing areas, and offices, each with different temperature conditions.
- Willingness to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary to complete tasks.
