The Signal Engineer will work within Wabtec's esteemed Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems Project Management team, known for its success in delivering complex integrated projects that encompass signaling, train control, communication systems, and back-office solutions. Impact on Customer Experience

In the capacity of a Signal Engineer, you will significantly enhance the customer experience. Your duties will include the engineering of rail signaling systems, the creation of circuit designs, and the programming of essential logic. This position requires close collaboration with customer specifications, adherence to railroad standards, and compliance with FRA regulations.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • 1-3 years of experience in signaling is preferred
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Daily Responsibilities

As a Signal Engineer, your typical day will involve tasks such as completing designs for wayside and crossing systems, programming vital logic controllers (VLC), and programming wayside interface units (WIU). You will engage in project scope reviews with managers and project leads, participate in project evaluations with clients, and collaborate on CADD programs utilizing Microstation and AutoCAD.

Your responsibilities will also include managing and organizing documentation within a control system, ensuring proper versioning controls are maintained. Furthermore, you will review deliverables for accuracy and compliance with Quality System requirements, producing necessary documentation as part of your role.
