Job Summary:

The Dayton Area School Consortium is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with special needs in one-on-one or small group settings, providing instruction and support for personal care and instructional aids.
  • Prepare activities and projects, and assist with their implementation.
  • Monitor student activities and use positive guidance techniques to foster development of self-control, self-esteem, and positive social interactions.
  • Participate in multi-factored evaluation meetings and attend to personal needs of students as required.
  • Perform delegated nursing duties as directed by a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist with the lifting, moving, and physical management of students.
  • Maintain required certificates and demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
  • Attend workshops and professional meetings, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Access to own motor vehicle.
  • Ohio educational aide certificate.
  • Ability to physically manage students with disabilities.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted.
  • Pass criminal background check.
