Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Paraprofessional to join our team at the Dayton Public Schools. As a key member of our educational support staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist classroom teachers in creating engaging instructional materials and displays.
  • Support students with social and independent skills, including feeding and toileting needs.
  • Work with students with multiple disabilities, providing individualized support and accommodations.
  • Assist with classroom behavior management, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
  • Participate in the IEP process, providing support for students with special needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Current and valid State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit-Educational Aide required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
  • Experience working with students with special needs and disabilities.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of lightweight items. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue may occur. Work may be subject to frequent interruptions, and potential exposure to disruptive parents and students.
