About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at OakBend Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our perioperative suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Completion of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or meet the grandfather clause.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and basic infection control/aseptic technique.
  • Ability to use equipment reference manuals and resources for consultation.
