Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Circulating Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at St. Mark's Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support during operative and invasive procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general nursing duties and be competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies.
  • Facilitate smooth and efficient room turnover and patient flow.
  • Complete all paperwork and computer charting to ensure accurate and timely charting and patient charges occur.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
  • Ensure Pre-op Checklist is complete before patient is taken into surgical suite.
  • Be consistently ready and prepared for assigned cases.
  • Respond appropriately to patient emergencies or physically distressful situations.
  • Facilitate communications between patient, surgeon, and OR staff and family and other departments as needed.
  • Give a thorough report of patient's intraoperative condition to PACU nurse.
  • Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols.
Requirements
  • Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • One or more years of OR experience required.
