About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our Advanced R&D team at Biosense Webster Inc., a part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies. As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering and design services to support the development of innovative medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new medical devices based on customer needs and requirements
  • Optimize processes for initial and long-term scaling of new designs and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure successful product development
  • Participate in in vitro and in vivo device testing to validate design and performance
  • Document design and testing activities to support regulatory submissions and quality assurance
  • Manage the transfer of designs from concept to pilot to full production
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, biology, mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering work experience, with 2 years of experience in the medical device industry
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for domestic and international assignments
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a pre-clinical or clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software, including SolidWorks
  • Able to interpret 2D engineering drawings
  • Previous experience in cardiac electrophysiology or working with physicians
  • 2 years of R&D experience
  • Understanding of quality standards pertaining to medical devices
