Job Title: Retail Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Representative to join our team at Casino Del Sol Resort. As a Retail Representative, you will be responsible for generating sales, assisting with merchandising, and safeguarding the assets of the Gaming Enterprise Division (GED) while providing outstanding guest service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet all guests, ensuring they receive exceptional service by maintaining a professional level of communication and demonstrating solid product knowledge at all times.
  • Interact with guests, assist in locating merchandise, give product presentations, and convince them to make purchases.
  • Inform supervisor of special guest requests.
  • Process credit card and cash transactions and bag merchandise, ensuring accuracy of sales data and cash handling, including balancing of assigned bank.
  • Redeem scripts, vouchers, coupons, and receipts for products.
  • Process mail orders and sell gift certificates.
  • Produce end-of-shift reports.
  • Exhibit results-oriented behavior by resolving problems and anticipating needs.
  • Address issues in a pleasant and professional manner and keep the supervisor informed, referring situations that are difficult to resolve to a supervisor.
  • Pass all retail sales goals successfully.
  • Maintain the proper display of goods on the floor and check the merchandise to ensure it complies with quality standards.
  • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise as well as monitoring floor stock.
  • Assist in completing price changes within the retail outlets.
  • Participate in year-end inventory and cycle counts.
  • Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Notify supervisor if equipment is broken and needs repair or replacement.
  • Follow established safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness of store areas throughout the shift, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
  • Display a diplomatic, polished, and professional demeanor in the workplace.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
  • Foster a team environment by working collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Display initiative and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as sales trainings.
  • Maintain an awareness of current trends in the retail industry, with a focus on product development.
  • Act as a resource for GED policies, programs, services, and activities.
  • Attend departmental and GED meetings as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect GED assets.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of service industry standards for full-service and upscale luxury hotels.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and suggestive selling.
  • Knowledge of departmental and GED policies, standards, and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Skill in working courteously with guests, as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
  • Ability to meet assigned goals.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the position, including the ability to accurately handle and count money, as well as make change.
  • Ability to operate all equipment needed for the position, including standard office equipment, such as a multi-line telephone and computer.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and write legibly.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain the physical stamina required, including an ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift and move twenty (20) or more pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch, and reach objects above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with cash registers, calculators, currency transactions, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to maintain the physical stamina required, including an ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift and move twenty (20) or more pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrated track-record of providing excellent guest service.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the United States.
  • Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months of money-handling experience in a guest-service position.
  • Proficiency with cash registers, calculators, currency transactions, and point-of-sale systems.
  • High school or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
