Healthcare Support Specialist

The Community Health System is currently seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Laredo Medical Center's Emergency Room. Located in the heart of Texas, this 326-bed acute care hospital offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year
In this role, you will work closely with our experienced nursing staff to provide a wide range of delegated basic patient care services. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional patient care: You will be responsible for obtaining and recording initial and ongoing patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient data within your competency.
- Assisting with daily living activities**: You will help patients with meals, bathing, oral care, grooming, and elimination, as well as changing bed linens as needed.
- Collecting specimens**: You will obtain non-invasive body fluid specimens or gather vital signs but do not start or administer intravenous fluids.
- Assisting with patient mobility**: You will ensure that patients receive adequate medical equipment to meet their condition and needs.
- Communicating effectively**: You will communicate all observations related to patient care and/or condition to nursing staff.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in healthcare principles and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. While a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Tech certification is preferred, it is not required.
