Job Summary

Viva Senior Living is seeking a skilled Medication Care Manager to join our team. As a Medication Care Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely distribution and documentation of medication for residents in accordance with each resident's physician's orders and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and timely distribute and document medication for residents
  • Assist residents in maintaining their total wellbeing by following the established Plan of Care, providing assistance with activities of daily living, social activities, dietary assistance, and Viva Senior Living's philosophies
  • Supervise and care for residents on a daily basis according to residents' needs
  • Aid with activities of daily living, including bathing, showering, and dressing
  • Observe, supervise, and record resident self-administration of prescribed medications
  • Report refusals and/or reactions to supervisor on duty
  • Direct residents and family members to appropriate staff for other needs or information
  • Order meal trays for residents when needed
  • Report and record observations of changes in residents' condition to director or supervisor in the daily logbook
  • Implement personal care plans for each resident
  • Be patient and understanding in communicating with staff, residents, and visitors
  • Provide assistance in dining room as needed
  • Administer medication as directed by supervisor
  • Answer emergency calls promptly and courteously, complete required paperwork afterward
  • Retrieve soiled linen and personal clothing from resident living areas
  • Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of a resident's room

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current medication certificate, diabetes/insulin certificate, and current observations
  • Direct Care Staff training certificate

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
  • Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility
  • Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
