Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Events and Activities Coordinator to join our team at the MassHire Lowell Career Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of activities and events to our patrons aged 60 years and above living in Billerica.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of planning and delivery, including solicitation of supplemental funding and outreach to community partners.
  • Maintain regular collaboration with social services agencies and healthcare entities to assess changing needs from patrons, family caregivers, and the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Collaborate with other town departments to execute town-wide and recreational events, including hosting events with the library.
  • Supervise groups of volunteers and attend trainings to acquire new skills in events management and partner seminars.
Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience in events planning and design, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the aging process, elder programs, and federal, state, and local resources for housing, homecare, and legal needs.
  • Ability to assess individual needs with care and empathy, set priorities, and complete multiple tasks in a detailed and effective manner.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Union (AFSCME) job with an Annual Salary range of $46,833 - $59,775.
