Job Summary:

The Administrative Director of Human Resources at UNC Health Care is a key leadership role responsible for providing strategic human resources guidance and talent development for a multi-site hospital system with over 1500 employees.

This role is tasked with fostering a high-performing workplace culture through policies, programs, and practices that engage and motivate employees.

The Administrative Director of Human Resources leads the delivery of a comprehensive range of human resources services, including people and organizational development, talent acquisition, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and absence management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Human Resources professionals, fostering independence and autonomy through timely, thorough, and constructive feedback.
  • Identify and mitigate people-centric risks, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through the administration of ongoing and specific initiatives.
  • Collaborate with financial and operational leadership on strategic workforce planning, facilitating internal talent mobility processes.
  • Steward people-centric data, including personal identifiable information, for executive analysis and organizational planning.
  • Design and lead performance management evaluation processes, advising leaders and subordinate staff on sensitive performance management issues.
  • Lead the design and administration of total rewards programs, ensuring regular evaluation and adjustment for cost and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the resolution of disputes and investigations, collaborating with counsel as needed.
  • Define and pursue strategic talent goals through the administration of a competitive and effective acquisition and retention system.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least five years of human resource management or related leadership experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
