The Engineering division at Red Hat is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to become part of our Accelerator team. This role focuses on the packaging and upkeep of the GPU and Accelerator ecosystem. You will contribute to the development, packaging, and maintenance of essential components for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), which underpins our advanced products like Red Hat OpenShift AI and RHEL AI.
Your Responsibilities
- Evaluate the GPU/Accelerator ecosystem to identify components requiring packaging.
- Develop and package these components for AI/ML and GPU computing frameworks within RHEL.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for these packages in RHEL and our associated products.
- Engage with upstream GPU/Accelerator communities and collaborate with hardware vendors.
Your Qualifications
- Experience with RPM packaging and Linux scripting tools.
- Interest in GPU computing technologies such as oneAPI, ROCm, or CUDA.
- Proven experience in building Linux components.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Experience with operating system integration and tooling; familiarity with RHEL is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the Git version control system.
- Enthusiasm for developing open-source solutions.
