Overview: The Front Desk Associate is responsible for welcoming patients, updating insurance details in the database, verifying and analyzing health insurance benefits, explaining payment policies, managing phone communications, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome, register, guide, and assist patients with general inquiries.
  2. Collect demographic and financial information and input it into the computer system.
  3. Confirm insurance eligibility and communicate pertinent information regarding payment policies and billing/collection procedures.
  4. Assess and collect co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient financial obligations while maintaining and reconciling the cash drawer.
  5. Coordinate with primary care providers and insurance companies as requested by patients.
  6. Manage telephone communications, take messages, and respond to voicemails.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Office Manager or Practice Administrator.

Availability: Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Experience in medical billing or as a medical receptionist is preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
