Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Signal Technician to join our team in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our Traffic Engineering Maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing traffic signal maintenance and repairs in accordance with established safety standards and VDOT policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform traffic signal repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal signal performance and safety.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections of electronic devices and related equipment to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic devices and equipment to ensure timely and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Respond to emergency situations and serve in an on-call capacity to ensure prompt and effective resolution of issues.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of traffic signal maintenance and operations, including safety standards and VDOT policies.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple competing assignments and maintain accurate records.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to use a variety of hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of traffic control devices, signal equipment, and their operation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • IMSA Roadway Lighting certification and Commercial Driver's License.
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Level I technician certification and a combination of training experience or education in electronics or a related field.
