Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Mechanic to join our team at the County of Sonoma, CA. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration.
  • Inspect and diagnose problems with building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of building systems and equipment as needed.
  • Work with other maintenance staff to ensure that all facilities are properly maintained and operated.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance of building systems.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous conditions. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
