Role Details:
We are currently looking for a qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist to become part of our Surgical/Tele team on the Day Shift in a full-time capacity. Our Medical/Surgical Unit consists of 18 beds dedicated to providing personalized and direct care for patients undergoing various general and specialized surgical procedures, such as orthopedic, bariatric, urology, and cardiac surgeries.

The general medical population encompasses areas such as respiratory, endocrine, nephrology, neurology, cardiology, and wound care.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess assigned patients and develop, implement, and document nursing care plans.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
  • Conduct various patient tests and administer medications within the registered nurse's scope of practice.
  • Encourage patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Utilize experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and achieve objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license or a compact state license required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit is preferred.
  • Experience in orthopedics is highly desirable.
