Job Title: Sr. Dental Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Dental Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and supporting dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials. This role will also assist dentists during procedures and perform minor procedures as permitted by the Dental Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials to ensure a smooth and efficient dental care delivery process.
  • Assist dentists during procedures and perform minor procedures as permitted by the Dental Practice Act.
  • Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies.
  • Pour, trim, and polish study casts, and clean and polish removable appliances.
  • Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patients' records.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Ensure proper operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and coordinating repairs.
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certification may be considered.
